Mary Lou Parisi

Mary Louise Parisi, Co-CEO of Eye Health America (EHA), collaboratively leads the company’s services, management and strategy as an eye care leader. She builds strong alliances, attracts and retains the best physicians and partners.

Since EHA’s inception in March 2018, Mary Lou has fostered a patient-focused, innovative culture among 1200+ employees, 75+ providers (ophthalmologists, optometrists, etc.) across 60+ clinics and nine ambulatory surgery centers.

Prior to joining EHA, Parisi was Chief Executive Officer of Clemson Eye directing its growth as one of South Carolina’s largest regional integrated eye care providers with a focus on advanced cataract and refractive surgery, optical and aesthetics.

Mary Lou Parisi is well-known in the eye care community and has served on national advisory boards for industry, published, and lectured for ASOA and JCAPHO while consulting on practice management across the U.S. and Canada. Prior to that, Parisi co-founded and grew an international furniture design and manufacturing business with sales and distribution in five countries over eight years. Briefly, in her early career, Parisi taught high school English in Canada, but quickly realized she was an entrepreneur at heart. In Hamilton, Canada, her birthplace, she launched an independent optical dispensary and eye care practice before relocating to South Carolina with her family.

Parisi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Political Science, and minor in English, followed by a post-graduate Bachelor of Education, all from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. She is a Certified Ophthalmic Executive who enjoys the creative process in business and thrives on steering an enterprise to its full potential.

John Swencki

John Swencki serves as Co-CEO of  Eye Health America^™ (EHA) and is a member of the Board of Managers. He is instrumental in practice acquisitions, strategic planning, and integration of partnerships in Florida for EHA.

Swencki was most recently an owner/ partner of The Eye Associates of Manatee and held the position of Chief Executive Officer for over 20 years. He built upon The Eye Associates’ outstanding reputation for superior patient care, and increased business growth in other medical areas. Under his leadership, the practice expanded services to not only include eyecare and eye surgery, but also dermatology, cosmetics and hearing. The Eye Associates are now a member practice of Eye Health America.

Swencki’s extensive healthcare experience also includes Healthcare Administration in Hospitals, Behavioral Health, Group Medical Practices and Surgery Centers. He brings with him a solid understanding of the changing healthcare climate, and he has a knack for seeing medical care from a patient’s point of view while keeping best business practices in mind.

Swencki is a former US Army Officer. He received a BBA in Healthcare Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and then went on to Argosy University for his MBA. He is a devoted husband and father with 3 children and resides in Sarasota, FL. His favorite pastime is boating and fishing with his family.

Kevin Becker

Kevin has helped lead numerous investments in healthcare services companies across multiple specialties including dermatology, behavioral health, primary care and eye care. As CFO of Eye Health America (EHA), Kevin is able to leverage his experience and exposure to drive operating performance. Kevin enjoys working with a strong team to help accelerate the growth of EHA.

Jeremy Sieffert

Jeremy was born and raised on the Connecticut shoreline. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  He also completed several executive business management and leadership training programs at the Wharton School and the Kellogg School of Management.

For more than 23 years, Jeremy has worked in various healthcare leadership and operational roles at several organizations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York.  Before joining Eye Health America, he was a Regional Vice President of Operations at North American Partners in Anesthesia, headquartered in Melville, New York. Prior to NAPA, Jeremy was an operations leader at ProHealth Physicians, Connecticut’s largest primary care network and one of Connecticut’s first accountable care organizations. In addition, Jeremy has previously served in several other healthcare leadership and operational roles at Steward Healthcare and Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston.

Jeremy and his wife have two daughters and a rescue dog named Stella.  Jeremy enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family and friends in his free time.

Mike Gleason

Mike brings a passion to providing the best care to patients and a growth mentality of forging lasting relationships with outstanding providers.

Before joining Eye Health America, Mike served as the VP of Growth Operations at Panoramic Health, the largest integrated nephrology provider group. He contributed to the strategic growth and development of physician practice partnerships, ambulatory surgery centers, and other ancillary services. Prior to that, Mike held various leadership positions in Corporate Development and Financial Operations at American Renal Associates, one of the largest dialysis services organizations in the United States. In addition, he worked in the Aerospace & Defense industry at both public and private companies.

Mike earned his MBA from Northeastern University and undergraduate degree from Saint Michael’s College, where he played competitive hockey. Mike is a husband and father to twin sons and a daughter. He enjoys skiing with his family, fishing, boating, and golfing.

Cathleen McCabe, MD

Cathleen McCabe, MD serves as Chief Medical Officer at Eye Health America^™. She is one of the foremost eye surgeons today, specializing in bladeless laser cataract surgery and LASIK at The Eye Associates of Manatee. Dr. McCabe has performed over 40,000 cataract surgeries and more than 17,000 LASIK procedures. She also performs laser treatments for glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.

Dr. McCabe continues to receive many prestigious and esteemed awards for her work in Ophthalmology, including being named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor – 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 for Ophthalmology. Castle Connolly also selected her for the first-ever Exceptional Women In Medicine Award for 2017.

Dr. McCabe received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and went on to her residency training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami’s School of Medicine. She continues to share her expertise by publishing articles and book chapters as well as lecturing at ophthalmological and optometric seminars.

Jason Barden

Jason possesses extensive expertise in the field of Information Technology, accumulating an impressive tenure of over 27 years with a particular focus on Healthcare IT. Notably, he has been associated with Clemson Eye, one of our foundational partner affiliates, for more than 22 years. Initially serving as an external consultant through his own company, Jason eventually assumed leadership of the IT department. In 2018, he joined as a key member of Eye Health America during its founding.
Jason’s unwavering passion for technology has been widely recognized, and he has or the expansion of the organization’s IT infrastructure. Under his guidance, EHA, and Clemson Eye before it, has successfully transitioned from a solitary office setup to a comprehensive, fully integrated hybrid cloud IT environment that spans multiple states.
A proud alumnus of Clemson University, Jason holds a degree in Computer Science. Additionally, he has obtained certification as a NextGen Healthcare Certified Professional.

Kerry Essex

Kerry serves as the Controller at Eye Health America, where she is primarily responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization. She oversees all aspects of the accounting functions, including accounts payable, the month-end process, and the production of financial statements. Additionally, she plays a key role in cash management, ensuring financial stability and accuracy across all areas of the organization’s finances.

Kerry, originally from Chicago, moved to Sarasota at a young age, where she developed a passion for precision in financial management. With her extensive expertise, she brings a deep commitment to accuracy and strategic oversight. Outside of the office, Kerry enjoys quality time with her family and her two beloved boxers. An avid outdoor enthusiast, she loves staying active through paddleboarding, hiking, and other forms of exercise. Kerry is also a travel enthusiast who enjoys vacationing and exploring new destinations. When she’s not outdoors, you’ll find her unwinding with a good book.

Alecia Davis

Alecia Davis brings over 12 years of Human Resource experience, primarily within the healthcare sector. Before embarking on her HR career, she was an ABO-certified optician. Originally from a small town in West Texas, Alecia relocated to Florida a decade ago and now revels in the paradise it offers. She enjoys fishing, lounging on the beach, and reading, finding joy in every moment spent under the sun.

Courtney Mitchell

Courtney has been working in marketing & advertising for the last 16 years. As a creative and metrics-driven marketing professional, Courtney brings experience in corporate communications, internal communications, advertising, public relations, event planning, brand management, promotions, social media marketing, reporting and analytics, product development, and budget administration. Courtney currently oversees all marketing efforts across EHA.

Eric Yang

Eric has spent 10+ years working in healthcare innovation and strategy, across the provider, payer, and life sciences sectors. He has extensive experience with business process optimization, digital transformation, and data analytics. At EHA, he is responsible for planning and overseeing a range of cross-functional executive initiatives. He received his MBA from the Wharton School and his BA from Dartmouth College.

Mark Holloway

Mark Holloway serves as the Regional Administrator for West Georgia Eye Care Center (WGECC) in Columbus, GA where he oversees the daily operations of WGECC Eye Care, Optical, Hearing Services, and lends support to The Eye Surgery Center of West Georgia.  During his 25-year tenure at WGECC, the practice has grown from a 4 MD / 1 OD practice to an 11 MD / 4 OD multispecialty practice with an ASC thus becoming the preeminent eye care provider in the West Georgia/East Alabama region.  In addition to his role in the growth of the practice, he was instrumental in real estate acquisition and development of the practice’s three office locations.

In his ophthalmic career, Mark has been active within the respective professional associations and has twice served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) and on the National Board for the Certification of Ophthalmic Executives (NBCOE) where he also served as Board President.  He has also been a course presenter at the annual ASCRS/ASOA meetings.

Holloway is a former US Army Medical Service Corps officer.  He is a graduate of Auburn University with a BS in Health Care Administration and has attended the ASCRS/ASOA Yale Executive Management program and Harvard School of Public Health Executive Management program in Leadership Strategies.  His professional experience extends to practice administration in primary care, oncology, university health services, and managed care leadership within the military healthcare system.  He is active in the Rotary Club of Columbus, a deacon in his church, and a devoted husband and father of three and grandfather of four.

Lisa Moore

Lisa Smith-Moore, a native of Oconee County, embarked on her educational journey at West-Oak High School before furthering her studies at Greenville Technical College, where she earned an Associate of Science Degree.

In May 1994, Lisa joined Clemson Eye as a Technician under the guidance of Dr. Joseph Parisi. Over the years, she has held various pivotal roles within the organization, transitioning from Technician to Clinical Lead, Manager, and eventually Director of Operations.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Lisa finds joy in spending time with her husband Brad, engaging in jeep riding adventures, and participating in church activities. Together, they cherish parenthood, raising two children. Presently, they revel in the delights of grandparenthood, affectionately known as Lolli and Pops to their grandchild, Kensley Jane.

Caasi Phillips

Caasi, boasting 24 years in Ophthalmology, began her journey as a technician before ascending to a leadership position. With 7 years of closely collaborating with doctors, she now oversees business and clinical operations for The Eye Associates and Updegraff Laser Vision, providing guidance to the medical team.

Fun Fact: Caasi and her high school sweetheart not only share a lifelong partnership but also embarked on homeownership at the tender age of 22, crafting a remarkable start to their journey together.

Benjamin Rinn

Ben was born and raised in South Texas. He received his BA in Behavioral Biology and Spanish from Johns Hopkins University and completed his MA in Spanish at Stanford University. With over 15 years of healthcare operations and leadership experience, he enjoys leveraging Lean Management principles to improve processes and patient outcomes. His broad scope has spanned non-profits, large academic medical centers, health systems, and for-profit ventures. After 8 years in New York City and 8 years in Baltimore, Ben and his family have moved back south to be closer to family.

Ben and his wife have three children and love being active outdoors whenever possible, especially when beach volleyball or camping are an option.

Tina Wood

Tina Wood is the Regional Director of Operations at Eye Centers of Florida, where she oversees business and clinic operations with a strong focus on providing patients with the best vision possible. She is dedicated to patient care, staff education, and exceptional customer service, helping her team grow professionally. Tina began her career as a licensed optician in 1991. Originally from Anna Maria Island, Florida, she enjoys spending her free time with her husband, grandchildren, and her kids and their spouses.

Scott B. Han, OD

Scott B. Han, OD serves Medical Officer for the Florida region at Eye Health America.
Dr. Scott Han graduated with honors from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA where he was the President of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. He received several awards for exceptional patient care and academic performance. Dr. Han then completed an ASCO accredited Ocular Disease residency affiliated with The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. This additional training concentrated on surgical co-management, complex disease management, and clinical research. After residency he received his Fellowship from The American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Han is an FDA clinical trial investigator for both medications and medical devices and has helped these new treatments through FDA approval so they can be made available to our patients. Dr. Han lectures nationally to physicians and has written journal articles and presented posters at national meetings. Dr. Han was the first in the area to create a specialized Dry Eye Clinic incorporating the latest ocular surface disease technologies and procedures, newest prescription medications, and highest quality nutraceuticals. The Dry Eye Spa combines an Accredited Dry Eye Center of Excellence and Center for Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Han lives in Sarasota with his wife and daughters.

Joseph Parisi, MD

Joseph (Joe) L. Parisi MD, FACS serves Medical Officer for the South Carolina region at Eye Health America.

Dr. Parisi was born in Akron, Ohio and raised in Ontario, Canada. At Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, one of the most prestigious schools in Canada, he obtained his medical degree and completed a residency in ophthalmology. He interned at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec, part of the renowned McGill University Medical System.

Medical Career
Dr. Joseph Parisi built a successful, well respected clinical practice in Canada and was on the staff at McMaster University Medical Center and the Hamilton General Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario for four years. In 1994, he completed fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery at the National Eye Institute in Ottawa, Canada and relocated with his family to Clemson, South Carolina when he joined Dr. Robert O. Brown in practice.

Dr. Parisi has performed over 30,000 cataract and refractive surgeries using the most advanced techniques, lenses and equipment available in the nation. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He has performed thousands of microsurgical procedures including cataract surgery, ICL, LASIK, ASA, orbital and tear duct surgery, cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery and laser treatment for glaucoma and retinal disease. He is the medical director and chief ophthalmologist at Clemson Eye. He served as Chief of Surgery at Oconee Medical Center, in Seneca, from 2000 to 2002. He also maintains privileges at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens. Dr. Parisi is a consultant for Alcon Surgical.

Dr. Parisi lives with his family in Greenville. He enjoys marathons, curling, skiing, guitar, cooking and travel.

Lisa Brill

Lisa has been a business development professional in the eye care industry for over 25 years.  She has vast experience in building a successful network of referring physicians.  Lisa works closely with both our internal doctors along with external referring physicians to ensure a smooth referral process through effective communication, relationship building and by making process improvements to ensure the best patient referral experience.  She enjoys consulting with eye care practitioners to help grow their business and improve customer service.

Kami DelBagno

Kami has a proven track record of Leadership and Business Development over the last 30 years. Her ability to cultivate strong relationships with community partners, develop and implement strategic initiatives and her deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the eye care industry has consistently resulted in organizational impact and sustainability for Eye Health America.

Geraldine Dooley Miller

As the Corporate Business Development Manager, Geraldine is the operational coordinator for the Business Development team.  Graduating from Emory University in Atlanta, she has worked in the healthcare, administrative, and legal professions for over 20 years.  Geraldine works alongside the rest of the Business Development team to implement Eye Health America’s development and growth strategies. 

Jill Grawe

Jill has worked in the eye industry for over 30 years and seen all the advancements. Within the industry, Jill has done consulting with Alcon, B&L, and AMO/Abbott to help other practices grow their elective options for their patients. Jill works very closely with the outside OD’s and MD’s along with working with her own physicians.  Jill enjoys working with new potential partners to help make their process as smooth as possible, by always being available to help with the transition.
