Joseph (Joe) L. Parisi MD, FACS serves Medical Officer for the South Carolina region at Eye Health America.
Dr. Parisi was born in Akron, Ohio and raised in Ontario, Canada. At Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, one of the most prestigious schools in Canada, he obtained his medical degree and completed a residency in ophthalmology. He interned at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec, part of the renowned McGill University Medical System.
Medical Career
Dr. Joseph Parisi built a successful, well respected clinical practice in Canada and was on the staff at McMaster University Medical Center and the Hamilton General Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario for four years. In 1994, he completed fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery at the National Eye Institute in Ottawa, Canada and relocated with his family to Clemson, South Carolina when he joined Dr. Robert O. Brown in practice.
Dr. Parisi has performed over 30,000 cataract and refractive surgeries using the most advanced techniques, lenses and equipment available in the nation. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He has performed thousands of microsurgical procedures including cataract surgery, ICL, LASIK, ASA, orbital and tear duct surgery, cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery and laser treatment for glaucoma and retinal disease. He is the medical director and chief ophthalmologist at Clemson Eye. He served as Chief of Surgery at Oconee Medical Center, in Seneca, from 2000 to 2002. He also maintains privileges at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens. Dr. Parisi is a consultant for Alcon Surgical.

Dr. Parisi lives with his family in Greenville. He enjoys marathons, curling, skiing, guitar, cooking and travel.
