Eye Health America™ Appoints Cathleen McCabe, MD as Chief Medical Officer
McCabe to drive clinical excellence and practice support to strengthen partnerships and support
company’s continued growth
ATLANTA, GA – May 9, 2018 – Eye Health America (EHA), the leader in full-service eye care, has appointed Cathleen McCabe, M.D., as its chief medical officer. As the newest member of EHA’s executive leadership team, Dr. McCabe will be responsible for the development, implementation and continuation of best practices across EHA’s group practices and ambulatory surgery centers, including The Eye Associates, Clemson Eye and Piedmont Surgery Center.

EHA partners with eye care practices and ASCs across the Southeast U.S. to help them deliver superior eye care. As they grow in number of locations and services offered, practices and ASCs can focus on delivering best-in-practice eye care, while EHA provides financial support, management and administrative resources and business insights. Member practices offer a wide range of eye care from routine eye exams, contact lenses and glasses, to medical ophthalmology and surgery such as cataract, cornea, retina, glaucoma, pediatrics and oculoplastics.
“Patient need for high-quality eye care is growing rapidly, but the availability of practice locations, services and offerings are not keeping pace to match this demand,” said Dr. McCabe. “EHA is taking an innovative approach to solving this problem by bringing the right people and the right practices together.”

Dr. McCabe has been an ophthalmologist and partner at The Eye Associates of Manatee for eight years and specializes in cataract and refractive surgery. The Eye Associates of Manatee joined Eye Health America on March 5, 2018. Before her time at The Eye Associates, Dr. McCabe was a cataract and refractive surgeon at Midwest Eye Consultants in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for more than ten years. Dr. McCabe holds a B.S. in Marine Biology from the Florida Institute of Technology, participated in graduate work in Zoology at the University of Florida, received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute/University of Miami Health System. She has also served in many leadership positions, including board positions for the American College of Eye Surgeons since 2016, the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society (OOSS) since 2014 and is currently the vice-president of OOSS.
