The company’s first announcement of 2019 reflects increasing investment opportunities across the eye health industry in the year to come
ATLANTA, GA – January 15, 2019 – Eye Health America (EHA), a leader in eye care practice management, today announced its first acquisition of the new year, bringing Donelson Eye Associates in Greenville, SC, into the Eye Health America network. This acquisition marks EHA’s fifth strategic partnership in Greenville, joining together the most well-reputed and advanced eye care practices and ambulatory surgery centers in the Upstate area, including Clemson Eye, Montgomery & Riddle Eyecare, Piedmont Surgery Center and Dr. Sara Bopp.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Donelson and his staff to the Eye Health America team in South Carolina,” said Mary Lou Parisi, President of Eye Health America in South Carolina. “Dr. Donelson has a great reputation in the industry, and we look forward to helping his office continue to grow with additional support and resources.”
Donelson Eye Associates is led by Dr. David Donelson who has practiced in Greenville for more than 30 years. He specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, laser cataract and refractive surgery, having performed over 40,000 cataract, refractive and micro-surgical procedures. Since 1987, Donelson Eye Associates has provided excellent eye care to patients with glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Their state of the art facility is centrally located at One Halton Green Way in Greenville, SC.
Dr. Donelson, along with Dr. Joseph Parisi and Dr. Brian Johnson of Clemson Eye, introduced laser cataract surgery to the Upstate of South Carolina through their partnership together at the Piedmont Surgery Center. Along with Dr. Parisi, Dr. Donelson was one of the first to perform LASIK in South Carolina.
“We are excited at the opportunity to work alongside such an experienced and supportive team at Eye Health America,” said Dr. David Donelson. “With the technology, administrative support and best practices that EHA provides, we know we will be able to continue providing the most superior level of care to patients in the Greenville area.”
Established by LLR Partners in 2018, Eye Health America partners with best-in-class eye care practices and ambulatory surgery centers to help them meet the growing patient need for eye health services, while delivering superior care to patients across the Southeast United States. Led by a management team with extensive industry experience, EHA provides its member practices with capital, business expertise and relief from many of the administrative burdens that take time away from clinical services.
Eye Health America just celebrated a fruitful 2018. In the first year of the company’s establishment, EHA acquired seven ophthalmology and optometry practices and ambulatory surgery centers across the Southeast. The company also expanded its staff count to over 500 employees in Georgia, South Carolina and Florida.
